EXTENDED: Good Time to Buy Tickets on Spirit Airlines (Guest Post from Tiff)

EXTENDED:  Now you can book by 11:59PM ET on October 24, 2012!

Right now is a good time to buy tickets on Spirit Airlines WITHOUT going to the airport to purchase tickets.  I just bought two round-trip tickets to D.C. on Spirit for $255 (without bags).  I’m usually happy if I can get one ticket at that price, so I’m really happy to be able to take advantage of this current promotion.

Spirit often runs $25 off and $35 off round-trip tickets promotions that would save you close to the same amount you would buying your tickets at the airport (buying at the airport saves $33.98 per round-trip ticket).  Right now they are running a $50 off promotion per round-trip ticket so you save more money than you would if you bought tickets at the airport to avoid the online transaction fee.

To get the discount use the code “50OFF” in the promotion code box and the discount will be automatically applied to the tickets you’re looking at.  This deal is only for travel from November 16, 2012 through March 5, 2013.  Many times (but not always) Spirit Airlines will extend their promotions, but right now this promotion is good through 11:59pm EDT on October 22, 2012.

Tiff is a master of non-rev flying and a mother of two boys, 7 and 3 years old. She’s been involved with travel deals since the late 90s (where she mastered the trick of getting bumped off your flight), then started flying non-rev when she married into being a D3 on American. She first started traveling as a kid with her parents. The first big trip she remembers is a Caribbean cruise from when she was six.
